Established in 1988, the American School of Doha (ASD) is an independent, U.S. accredited, college preparatory school committed to providing educational excellence, through a standards-based, internationally enriched American curriculum, serving a multicultural student body.

The American School of Doha (ASD) is a non-profit educational institution governed jointly by a Board of Trustees and a Board of Directors. The Board of Directors consists of a 12 member Board, three of whom are elected by parents and the remaining nine members appointed by the U.S. Ambassador. Regular meetings consist of Executive Sessions and Public Sessions.
