Summer Slide: How to Best Support Students During the Break | Inside the Principal’s Office
Summer is a critical time for everyone to recharge their batteries, students and adults alike. However, it can also be a time for students to experience the “summer slide” – what educators use to imply a student has lost some academic progress from end to beginning of year. It is crucial that students do not lose their academic gains from the previous year but how do we keep that from happening? On today’s show, we discuss some ideas and strategies that parents would benefit from to help keep their students engaged over the summer months.
We welcome Chris Irvin (MYP Principal, International School of Nanshan Shenzhen) and Francesca Mulazzi (Head of Upper School, Saint George’s School). Co-Hosted by Michael McWilliams (Principal, Savannah Elementary) and Charles Williams (Principal, Plato Learning Academy).
